This National Guard position is for a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD1255000 and is part of the TN ARMY National Guard.
This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 103 (Volunteer Chapter).
Duties
As a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (Military) GS-1152-09, you will establish plans and schedules for maintenance and repair, using multiple process production methods and procedures for a variety of vehicles and equipment such as combat vehicles, heavy-duty engineering and mobile equipment, tracked vehicles, towed and self-propelled artillery, communications and electronic equipment, guided missile systems, and small arms. Ensure Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTO&E) or Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) reportable Line Item Numbers (LIN) are properly managed, reported and accounted for with respect to readiness reports, property accountability reports, and system management. Program workload, shop space, and available personnel on a short and long-term basis. Conducts initial and long range planning on matters which include multiple process production, maintenance operations, equipment readiness, including mechanical skills, availability of test and diagnostic equipment, repair parts, annual training requirements, mobilization requirements; and other factors influencing the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment and readiness reporting. Ensure that unit Class 9 (CL IX) accounts are funded, budgeted, and executed to maximize readiness. Perform demand analysis on unit CL IX expenses to determine proper stockage to sustain unit mission requirements. Designate and maintain current maintenance priorities by Force Activity Designator, pacing items, Equipment Readiness Codes (ERC) A, B, and C equipment type, available funds, commander's priority, state/national priorities (in the case of floods, fires, and mobilizations), and unit supported. Analyze repair methods and develops control procedures and policies to assure accomplishment of programs to meet priorities and deadlines established by higher authority or support activities. Provide technical guidance and oversight to a lower-graded Production Controller. May provide guidance and oversight of mechanics, Tools and Parts Attendants, or other positions assisting in the maintenance production or maintenance management processes. Perform other duties as assigned.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

- Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.

- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

Qualifications
Military Grades: E-4 through E-7
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Progressively experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or other responsible work providing evidence of the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) necessary to perform the duties of the position to be filled; experience of a general clerical nature (typing, filing, routine procedural processing, maintaining records, or other nonspecialized tasks) is not creditable; trades or crafts experience appropriate to the position to be filled may be creditable for some positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year equivalent to at least a GS -7 or 18 months experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled; to be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization? Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience, as indicated in the table, are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements.
