This position is based in the Center for Healthcare Organization and Implementation Research (CHOIR) within the Research Service Line located at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial I(ENRM) VA Medical Center, in Bedford, MA. In this position you will provide clerical, administrative, and research support for the CHOIR Center of Innovation.
Duties

NOTE: This is a TERM appointment (not-to-exceed 4 years). Term appointments are non-status, nonpermanent appointments of limited duration (more than 1 year but not more than 4). Term employees are eligible to earn leave and generally have the same benefits as permanent employees including health and life insurance, within-grade increases and Federal Employees Retirement System and Thrift Savings Plan coverage. Term appointments may be extended without further competition (up to the 4-year maximum). The appointment to a Term position does not confer eligibility for promotion or reassignment to other positions or the ability to be non-competitively converted to permanent employment.
Major Duties:
Core Administrative Support: 75%
Process all micro purchases for CHOIR, including all credit card orders and purchase orders
Prepare, proof, and finalize complete and accurate correspondence, internal and external memoranda, research manuscripts, and presentations
Assist in updating/uploading and monitor information into the CHOIR website
Arrange travel for Center staff, and serve as Center liaison to the local VA Travel Office
Coordinate logistical tasks for CHOIR
Monitor Supply inventory
Manage Conference room scheduling process including coordination and operation of audiovisual equipment, as needed
Receive and distribute mail for the Center
Research Support 25%
Provide administrative support for submission of research proposals
Transcribe audio-recorded qualitative research data for assigned projects
Enter and verify quantitative data into electronic databases for assigned projects
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must have: At least one (1) full year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-5) in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience performing clerical/administrative duties in an office environment; providing administrative support; preparing a variety of correspondence and reports; using computerized office equipment and software such as Word, Excel, and/or other related software; managing appointment scheduling for conferences, meetings, etc.; preparing meeting agendas and minutes; creating and maintaining accurate filing systems; and interacting with clients in a professional, courteous manner while assessing and attending to their questions and needs. NOTE: Your experience must be fully documented in your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.
