You will serve as a OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST in the DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY COMMANDER FLEET READINESS CENTERS ANALYTICS GROUP of COMFLTREADCEN.
Duties
You will be responsible for the development and methodology of scientific work that involves designing, developing, and adapting mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific methods that support Naval aviation readiness objectives.
You will be responsible for innovating and prototyping advanced analytical algorithms and applications that can be consumed by program of record information technology systems as well as the creation of stand-alone product.
You will utilize advanced analytical approaches to discover new patterns in Naval Aviation data and provide input to Naval Aviation programs on patterns discovered from constructing and conducting advanced analytics.
You will analyze management problems and provide advice and insight about the probable effects of alternative solutions to these problems directly supporting Naval Aviation Life Cycle sustainment.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Preparing and presenting convincing oral and written presentations to any or all levels of government and industry management.
Utilizing qualitative data analysis methods, processes, and analytical software tools (i.e. Python, R, SQL).
Capturing and developing data requirements, database design support, data modeling interpretation, application design and prototyping solutions.
Leading and motivating a diverse group of technical professionals.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
