The primary purpose of this position FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WORKER (MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR), WG-5413-09, is to perform work involving the receipt, storage, transfer, and issue of a variety of liquid aircraft and ground petroleum-based fuel products, specialized ballistic missile propellants, and liquid nitrogen and oxygen via pipeline, and specialized vehicles.
Duties
Operate several complex workstations or a portion of a large fuel storage and dispensing system to receive fuel and transfer fuel to aircraft and refuelers.
Receive incoming petroleum products and cryogenic/missile propellant/deicing fluid product shipments by truck, tank car, or pipeline.
Issue petroleum products to containers and refueling units through fill stands.
Inventory and inspect the storage/distribution systems and the condition of the products received and issued.
Operate refueling vehicles, up to and including tractor trailer, for dispensing of aviation fuels and defueling aircraft.

- Position may require the employee to operate a forklift up to 10,000-pound capacity to move cryotainers.
- Shift work and/or overtime may be required.
- May be required to be certified in the handling/removing of hazardous materials and certain fuel/defuel operations.
- Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.
- PHYSICAL: THIS POSITION REQUIRES A PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL.
- Incumbent must possess or have the capability to acquire a Class B Commercial Driver's License with Tanker, Hazmat or Tanker and Hazmat combination endorsements within 6 months of assignment. This requirement is a condition of employment.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5400 Industrial Equipment Operation Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.
Operation of forklift.
Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)

Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (other than blueprinting reading)
Dexterity and Safety.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Physical Effort: Exerts light to moderate physical effort while performing duties. May lift or carry items that weigh up to 50 pounds. Heavier items are moved with assistance from others or with weight handling equipment. Work requires considerable standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working in cramped conditions.
Working Conditions: Work may be performed inside or outside. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions. Hazards in the work area include possible dangers from fire, explosion, and noxious fumes. Subject to prolonged exposure to loud noises.
