THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T6323000 and is part of the FL HQ 101 AOG, National Guard.
Duties
As a Powered Support Systems Mechanic, WG-5378-10, you will Install, inspect, and perform modifications and repairs to electrical power support systems such as electrical power plants and power distribution equipment. Inspects and checks equipment newly installed by the contractor to determine operating deficiencies. Repairs components such as generators, voltage regulators, governors, starter motors, fuel pumps, fuel lines, and oil pumps. Operates manual and remote switches, circuit breakers, rheostats, and other controls on a variety of automatic transfer switches, switchgears, and power distribution panels to perform necessary electric power control and distribution functions. Adjusts cycling and synchronization of generators to meet electrical load demand, energizing and de-energizing circuits to control distribution of electric power to busses and feeder circuits. Performs fabrication to modify equipment to fit local conditions.
Requirements

Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of?Title 5, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)", and is open to US citizens interested in helping the Department of the Air Force meet our mission requirements as a Powered Support Systems Mechanic.
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must you have experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of mechanical maintenance work; ability to read and use technical manuals, illustrations, diagrams and schematics, and skill in the use of equipment and hand tools used in troubleshooting, testing, and repairing equipment.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG10 Must have at least 1-year specialized experience to the next lower level; experience or training removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing parts, components, and accessories; experience which provided working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to powered support equipment and systems; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments; experience which provided working knowledge of the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships; experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.
