About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the National Ground Intelligence Center, GEOSPATIAL Intelligence Battalion, Springfield, VA 22150 .
Duties
Supports multi-disciplined security programs for Command military, civilian, and contract personnel in Personnel Security (PERSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC) and or Special Security.
Serves as Personnel Security Manager; Alternate Information Security Representative; Administers the security education program for the Battalion.
Serves as the Special Security Representative (SSR), providing Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) advice, and administers the SCI security program and oversight installation SCI Facility (SCIF).
Develops plans, policies and procedures for the implementation of security practices in accordance with Department of Defense and Department of the Army regulations and guidance.
Prepares reports, clearance actions, access controls, and other plans and documentation pertaining to security programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/GG-11 level in the Federal service which includes experience with security related functions specific to insider threat, program and personnel security. Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
