Duties

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** The major duties include but are not limited to: Performs duties and role as the facility level domain manager for the Talent Management System (TMS), serving as the primary contact and Subject Manager Expert; Creates assignments of appropriate training to local users, through the use of assignment profiles; Ensures all users have access to a workstation which can launch the TMS or have alternate ways to complete national mandatory training; Monitors external events entered into TMS; Creates and maintains scheduled offerings in TMS to facilitate online registration for face-to-face, blended and online training; Manages scheduled offerings completions to reflect accurate attendance at segmented events; Stays current on TMS technologies by participating in conference calls, virtual and face-to-face training to maintain technical competency; Provides training and support for all TMS users including during New Employee Orientation; Creates/manages TMS accounts, troubleshooting user issues with passwords, logon, change/reset passwords and unlock accounts for facility TMS users; Performs various administrative duties to include manages the Education Service Line Manager's calendar; prepares documents and reports using Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, InfoPath and Visio); records/publishes meeting minutes; prepares/manages incoming and outgoing correspondence; manages/edits/updates Intranet Page and SharePoint site; collects requests for training and travel; places requests and receives supplies, etc.; Performs various fund control point duties to include prepares, reviews, monitors the budget, expenditures and obligations; processes invoices and purchase orders; prepares records and reports related to fiscal training resources, ensuring timely and appropriate payment; answers questions pertaining to education/training funds; prepares statistical information, etc.; and Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the GS-6 level, you must meet the following: Experience: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-5) in the federal service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of a Training Technician, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes providing programmatic support to an education or training department; assigning training to users and providing training/support on an education system; preforming various administrative duties such as maintaining electronic calendars, preparing/managing correspondence and reports, recording and publishing meeting minutes; performing budget/fund control activities; and utilizing a variety of computer technology and software packages to create and manipulate data such as graphical user interface (GUI) and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, etc.). NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. The work of this position is primarily performed while sitting although some work may require periods of standing. The regular and recurring work of the position involves sitting at a desk, conferences, meetings, etc. and occasional visits to activity work sites. Duties may require lifting and carrying computer equipment such a s monitors and printers. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. The work environment includes everyday low risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of offices, meeting and training rooms.
