You will serve as a SUPERVISORY EDUCATION SERVICES SPECIALIST in the MARINE AND FAMILY SERVICES, MCCS of HQTSBATTALION.
Duties
You will manage and supervise the Personal and Professional Career Branch.
You will exercise supervision over professional, technical, and clerical/administrative support personnel engaged in developing implementing, evaluation, and revising the multiple programs associated with the Command Education program.
You will have full responsibility over the Lifelong Learning, Transition Assistance, Family Member Employment, Relocation, Information and Referral, Personal Financial Management and Retiree programs.
You will coordinate services with educational institutions to conduct programs on the installation.
You will negotiate with colleges/universities/etc. to provide or establish courses/programs and scheduling outside the facility to meet requirements of students and overcome educational deficiencies where standard courses will not meet needs.
You will provide supervision and complete various human resources tasks related to overseeing employees.
Requirements

- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position may be subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: executing a full range of personnel management duties; formulate, execute, and monitor branch spend plans, and budget requirements; and, managing/overseeing various education services programs.

Degree: that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the position to be filled in one or a combination of the areas described below. At least one course must have been from (1) or (2) below:
- Tests and measurement: Study of the selection, evaluation, administration, scoring, interpretation, and uses of group and individual aptitude, proficiency, interest, and other tests.
- Adult education: Study of the adult as a learner, teaching-learning theories for adults, models and procedures for planning, designing, managing, and evaluating adult learning activities.
- Educational program administration: Study of the foundation and methods in organizing for adult and continuing education programs.
- Curriculum development or design: Study of the principles and techniques for development of curricula for adult or vocational education programs.
- Teaching methods: Study of teaching strategies and learning styles of the adult learner.
- Guidance and counseling: Study of the purposes and methods in counseling and guidance, the role of the counselor in various settings, approaches to counseling, and the uses of tests in the counseling situation.
- Career planning: Study of career development, learning activities, systems, approaches, program coordination, use of educational and community resources, and vocational counseling systems.
- Occupational information: Study of theories of occupational choice and vocational development and their application to the guidance process. Identification and utilization of various types of occupational information and resources.
