Duties

You will review and interpret activities policies, program guidance and objectives relating to nuclear weapons security (NWS) responsibilities and translates into operational management methods, systems, and operations. You will analyze and evaluate on a quantitative/qualitative basis the effectiveness of line program operations in meeting established nuclear weapons security requirements. You will participate in internal and external working groups and Operational Planning Teams to provide advice and recommendations to inform coordinated solutions to complex, multi-faceted threats from malign actors and/or emergent technologies. You will plan and conduct comprehensive analytical analysis of established command, service and national policy, directives, and guidance to identify specified and implied tasks and applicable security requirements. You will identify potential vulnerabilities in the design, deployment, and operation of systems technologies used to support the Nuclear Weapons Security Program. You will coordinate and facilitate localized threat capability and vulnerability assessments in order to postulate current and projected threats to activities missions. You will identify vulnerabilities that must be addressed through rapid technology insertions, the acquisition process, or exceptions to policy. You will design and conduct complicated strategic weapons security operational surveys, reviews, exercises, and research projects. You will provide advisory services in order to measure and evaluate program accomplishments, effectiveness, and compliance with service and national requirements.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: designing and conducting comprehensive assessments for complex problems; defining/or clarifying solutions for critical operational areas. Planning, organizing, and leading operational planning teams to originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and to negotiate with management to accept and implement recommendations. Developing briefings, fact sheets, information papers, senior leadership talking points, trip reports, staff studies, and other related executive level products regarding security matters.
