You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT in the NAVAL AVIATION WARFIGHTING DEVELOPMENT CENTER of NAVAVNWARDEVCEN.

Duties

You will serve as the technical expert on all phases of government travel for military, Department of Defense (DOD) civilian, family members, and invitation travel. You will maintain policies as set forth in directives and regulations, and maintain progressive programs designed to meet or exceed Navy policies regarding government timeline submissions, and allowable percentage rate of delinquent accounts. You will be responsible for assisting with various aspects related to permanent change of station (PCS) travel requirements and travel claim processing. You will review/verify world-wide transportation and lodging arrangements for military, DOD civilian, invitational travel and required family member travelers. You will audit travel vouchers documentation for accuracy and compliance with DOD rules and regulations before submission for liquidation to include completion of the Defense Travel Management Office Checklist for Approving Vouchers.

• This is a bargaining unit position.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying an extensive body of government travel regulations to coordinate personnel travel arrangements using an automated travel system (e.g. Defense Travel System), resolving a variety of personnel travel issues and ensuring all travel entitlements are paid in compliance with government travel rules.. One full year of graduate level education that is directly related to the position being filled.

A combination of graduate level education and experience.
