This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serve as an IT Project Manager and Customer Support Specialist for the Deputy Chief of Staff G6 (DCS G6) located in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Provides oversight of G6 IT activities to include IT support and execution activities.
Serves as an advisor to the DCS G6 and other command managers. Develops IT policy, systems, automation tools, training and implements guidance.
Makes improvements, solves problems, or takes corrective action when problems arise; gives presentations or briefings on all aspects of the project; participates in phase, milestone, and final project reviews.
Supports long-range plans, goals, and objectives to ensure management objectives are met and coordinate the development of fiscal implementation and resources to meet programmatic and technical goals of the program.
Serves as an advisor to the DCS G6 and other managers by providing staff assistance in the form of policy, guidance, training, and IT support services.

Individual Occupational requirements: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes ensuring that inquiries and problems concerning computer hardware, software, and services are resolved; to include providing expertise in program management by developing strategic planning, development of business and providing support to customers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02.
