Duties

Major Duties: Lead Valley Forge and Hopewell Furnace efforts though print, web, and social media to commorate the 250th Anniversaries of the Declaration of Independence and the Valley Forge Encampment. Improve update and standardize park visual identity and branding across multiple media. Keep Park produced public facing media section 508 compliant. Serve as the park's deputy public information officer for daily operations, special events, and incident command teams. Lead and train other park staff in the basics of social media, web content, and visual design.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. Candidates who do not meet this requirement by close of this announcement will receive no further consideration for this position. - AND- To qualify for this position at the GS-11 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) that is directly related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience include research and creation of written and visual content such as graphics, photographs, video, audio and use through communication mediums including websites, social media, waysides, exhibits, publications, and signage. You must include hours worked per week in your resume. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION: Successful completion of Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate degree or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related. Education must be in a field of major study that is directly related to the work of the position consists of commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position if it clearly provides applicants with the background of knowledge and skills necessary for successful job performance in the position to be filled. They must equal at least 100% to qualify using this option. To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
