You will serve as a MEDICAL EQUIPMENT REPAIRER in the Naval Ophthalmic Readiness Activity (NORA) of NAVOPHTHALSUPPTRACT VA.
Duties
You will be responsible for maintaining all surface/finish department ophthalmic fabrication machines.
You will ensure procedures and protocols are followed and verify maintenance criteria is appropriately documented per directives and regulations.
You will report on the status of projects, and advises Director of Production of any unresolved operational and/or personnel problems and propose solutions.
You will provide technical and on the job training, monitor worker performances, assuring subordinates demonstrate knowledge and ability to correctly perform specific job tasks.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Utilizing electronic and mechanical principles applicable to a wide range of ophthalmic laboratory production equipment;
Demonstrating practical troubleshooting/symptom recognition techniques and applying systematic corrective maintenance of equipment;
Modifying standard procedures, adapting equipment or techniques, solving problems and improving system performance for highly complex electronic systems;
Utilizing computer applications to interpret data for troubleshooting and calibration of equipment;
Interpreting complex schematics, diagrams and illustrations.
