About the Position: The incumbent serves as a Shift Supervisor for the Security Guard force assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installations.

Duties

Provide security orientation to installation command personnel and input to developing manning and budgetary requirements. Plan and coordinate the activities of a guard shift to insure the maintenance of physical security standards. Perform supervisory and administrative duties relating to the security guard force to include work plans, short-term priorities, and work schedules. Receive and review daily reports from subordinate work leaders and insures the correction of reported irregularities. Develop training plans and conduct training based on approved training courses and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• This position requires the incumbent to undergo and pass a pre-employment and annual medical exams of physical, emotional and mental stability as required IAW AR 190-56.
• This position requires a high standard of conduct, and you must be assessed under the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) in compliance with AR 190-56 requirements.
• Incumbent must meet the requirements under the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
• This position requires proficiency in the use of assigned firearms/weapons, pass an initial qualification, and must qualify semi-annually thereafter in the use of assigned firearms/weapons in compliance with IAW AR 190-56.
• Successful graduation from Security Guard training is required for continued employment.
• This position requires passing a pre-employment and annual physical fitness/agility test (PAT).
• This position requires that the incumbent not have any medical condition that preclude the wearing of a chemical protective mask and over garments.
• This position is a Drug testing designated position in accordance with (IAW) AR 600-85.
• This position requires incumbent to be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver license.
• This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain applicable certifications in operating various electronic equipment and sensors.
• This position requires certification with the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN), Public Safety Commission, for access and exposure to law enforcement sensitive information and operation of NLETS/NCIC terminals.
• This position requires the incumbent to perform as a member of the installation's overall security response capability.
• This position requires shift work or a change in work shift may be necessary. Hours of work encompass fluctuating tours of duty to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Overtime may be required as directed and is subject to recall for periods of emergency overtime.
• This position requires training and maintaining certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).
