The primary purpose of this position is to monitor and implement established security, policies and procedures to all management and personnel concerning security programs which includes providing access capabilities for all employees, identification badges for control entry, oversight for all incoming and outgoing items commercially shipped, and vehicle entry/exit.
Duties
Resolves a wide variety of complex security clearance problems that require choosing alternative responses through coordination with Group Security Managers.
Provides assistance in the daily requirements of Security Force Management.
Assists in the overall management of the Information Security Program.
Assists in the administration of the Security Education and Training Program for information, personnel, and industrial security programs.
Performs administrative office support functions and maintains cooperative working relationships with organizational leadership.
Complies with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
Supports all Quality Initiatives and performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes performing a wide variety of interrelated or nonstandard security assignments utilizing a security database to input data/information in support of security operations, requesting security investigations and conducting reviews; evaluating classified information to ensure compliance with policies and regulations; and assisting with the administration of various security programs including force protection, education and training, and information systems.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of common and specialized security methods, rules, regulations, and principles to provide technical work and assist security specialists in security administration, and perform a wide variety of interrelated or nonstandard security assignments and resolve problems.
2. Knowledge of procedures, forms, and information and confidentiality requirements related to sensitive personal information to request security investigations and submit to the appropriate government agency.
3. Knowledge of what constitutes classified information, the supporting data required to maintain and store classified data, and understanding of criteria required for monitors of safes and other storage areas.
4. Knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with a specific security function to recognize, locate and insert data/information; support office and security operations; and produce a variety of documents and reports.
5. Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions, and accomplish multiple ongoing projects; and ability to locate, assemble, and compose information for reports, inquiries and limited technical correspondence.
6. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals, using a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
7. Knowledge of established safety procedures for the workplace.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
