You will serve as an ELECTRICIAN LEADER in the Production Resources Department, Shop 31 of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will be responsible for getting the work started by assigning tasks, setting the pace, working along with other workers, and demonstrating proper work methods. You will check work to ensure supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines are met. You will be responsible for the performance of preventive maintenance and preventive maintenance inspections on a wide variety of ship's systems and/or components. You will read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, work instructions, and other sources of job-related information to ensure safe and proper operation of systems, circuits, and equipment. You will lead workers, prioritize work, manage team resources, ensure quality and quantity standards are met to meet job requirements and deadlines. You will train employees in proper procedures and practices, coordinate work assignments, manpower and materials.

• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
