You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MIL) in the Officer Programs of NRD CHICAGO.

Duties

You will ensure compliance with all rules and regulations pertaining to applicant testing and be responsible for scheduling, administering, scoring and transmitting the officer test to the appropriate commands. You will ensure officer applicant meet basic eligibility and program authorization requirements for specific programs ensuring all requirements related to specific actions are met and in accordance with current regulations, policies and procedures. You will draft/prepare related correspondence, reports or other documents as required for appropriate signature. You will maintain liaison with other offices and activities both inside and outside the recruiting organization, utilizing the proper chain of command and maintaining courteous and tactful behavior and appropriate rapport.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge of military policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain military personnel service records; 2) Researching information in military records and databases in order to respond to inquiries regarding military human resources issues; and 3) Utilizing automated systems to create and maintain military records.
