Serves as the primary administrative support staff member, performing a wide variety of substantive administrative and clerical duties for various Field Office locations, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Division, Operations Department of the United States Section, International Boundary and Water Commission (USIBWC).

Duties
Monitors and coordinates the flow of information through Field Offices and Headquarters.
Makes travel arrangements, and completes travel orders, vouchers, and reports.
Receives and screens inquiries, including telephone calls and visitors.
Performs information processing support duties.
Performs document processing duties.
Performs resource management support work.
Performs personnel record keeping and payroll functions.
Operates a government motor vehicle to perform messenger duties.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or Naturalized U.S. Citizen.

- You may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
- You may be required to work overtime.
- You must possess and maintain a valid U. S. Motor Vehicle Driver License, without impeding restrictions, and issued by a U. S. state, the District of Columbia, or a U. S. territory.
- You must maintain direct deposit of your federal pay.
- You must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 15 pounds unassisted such as office items and supplies; and sustain periods of bending, stooping, and reaching.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualification Requirement - Applicants must meet all qualifications by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
Proficiency Requirement: In addition to meeting experience, applicants for this position must possess the following skill: 40 words per minute typing speed. Applicants may meet this requirement by self-certifying your proficiency during the application process.
Specialized Experience: To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Specialized Experience is defined as: Understanding organizational structure, functions, and policies to carry out and coordinate a variety of all levels of administrative support assignments; providing information, coordinating and processing controlled documents; controlling the flow of information throughout the office; scheduling events and meetings with agency management and stakeholders; storing and retrieving documents or files, producing reports, and creating spreadsheets; and applying correct English grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and composition in order to prepare material from drafts or brief notes; performing personnel record keeping and payroll functions; making travel arrangements and completing travel orders; receiving and screening inquiries, including phone calls and visitors.
GG-06: Demonstrating proficiency with office equipment including computers, software programs, telephone systems and copier; providing information to office visitors, receiving phone calls, greeting visitors and directing them to staff members as appropriate; storing and retrieving documents for files; assisting with producing reports, and creating spreadsheets; and applying correct English grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and composition in order to prepare material from drafts or brief notes; assisting with performing personnel record keeping and payroll functions; making travel arrangements and completing travel orders.
Time in Grade (TIG): Current and former Federal employees must have a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level to be eligible under Merit Promotion procedures. An SF-50 must be provided that verifies eligibility as stated in the Area of Consideration section.
