Duties

Supervises a staff of 3-12 employees, assigns and reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly, or longer basis. Assists with training new personnel. Plans work schedules, approves or disapproves leave, determines performance objectives and rates performance. Works in executing recreation events, programs and services to meet the recreational needs of a diverse patronage. Recommends items of supplies, materials, prizes, decorations, refreshments, and equipment needed for program functions. Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facility. Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed.

• A one year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
• Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
• OGE 450 Financial Disclosure is required.
• Subject needs to be able to lift 40 lbs.
• A physical maybe required.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Must have knowledge of wide range of recreation and sports activities, organization and structure of military units and installation sports program objectives, policies, methods and procedures to plan, organize, and coordinate activities, assist, guide and motivate military staff in carrying out their responsibilities. Must have basic understanding of budget and supply functions in order to prepare input and justification of funding for supplies and equipment. Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (English}. Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed. Highly Qualified: Canidates who possess at least two or more years prior experience working in Military Community Recreation Programs, specifically, Fitness, Sports, Outdoor Recreation, and /or Special Events will be considered Highly Qualified and referred to management first.
