This position for The Defense Information Systems Agency is at SS/Office of the Inspector General/Audit & Liaison Div/Audit Branch A (IG21) Fort Meade, Maryland.
Duties
Develop program guides that address computer security and information technology audit objectives and provide a clear path for developing convincing findings and actionable recommendations.
Exercise technical direction over the collection and analysis of all computer systems and security data.
Analyze and evaluate the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of computer systems, methods, management controls, cyber and information technology strategy, policies and procedures, management practices, and organization structures.
Draft audit reports.
Plan for and conduct or participate in conferences with key officials of audited activities.
Conduct audits of systems and programs to determine compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
Requirements

Qualifications
Basic Education Standards for positions in the 0511 series:
Failure to provide transcripts, or a determination that you do not possess the education requirement, will result in objection to your qualifications, and removal from consideration in accordance with competitive examining procedures.
To qualify for this position you must meet one of the basic requirements described below:
(1) Bachelor's degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.
OR
(2) A Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or
Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.
To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application. Specialized Experience:
For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized Experience is defined as: experience planning, coordinating, and conducting comprehensive performance audits specifically relating to computer security assessments and evaluations, and analyzing methods, management controls, cyber and information technology strategy, policies and procedures, management practices, and organization structures.
Candidates must describe how their experience meets the specialized experience requirement within the body of their resume.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position.
