Duties

Supervises and oversees the management and operation of a Fitness Facility. Assists in the development of budgetary and manpower requirements and tracks expenditures; recommends adjustments due to changes in program demands or hours of operation. Publicizes sports facilities, programs, and events by writing articles for MWR Newsletter and coordinates with marketing for posters, flyers, and other promotional material. Establishes employee work schedules and performance objectives and appraisals. Oversees the inventory of property; fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate.

• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
• Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED, and Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification.
• Must complete the following course(s)/class: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service, and Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair)
• Must be able to work during the Operating Hours of Monday 530-1730, Tuesday-Thursday 530-1800, and Friday 530-1630.

Qualifications

Standard Qualification: Possesses directly related work experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports. Experience that includes the demonstrated ability to manage and operate complex multiple fitness facilities. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. Fitness or Accredited Personal Trainer Certificate. - The experience "Must" be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position. Highly Qualified: Candidates who possess a combination of education (an undergraduate in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology) and the ability, knowledge, and skills to perform the duties identified above. Two years' experience demonstrating the ability to independently administer, execute, organize, plan, and supervise a Physical Fitness Center Certifications in Specialized Program Instructor Areas: Group Exercise, Certified Personal Trainer Certification, CSCS, TSAC-F. - The degree/transcripts or certifications "Must" be uploaded at the time of application to be considered Highly Preferred for this position.
