This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a TRAINING SPECIALIST, Position Description Number PDD0925000, and is part of the SC SCARNG TRNG SITE CMD, South Carolina Army National Guard.

Duties

This position is located in the Total Army School System Regiment or Regional Training Institute (RTI).Performs a variety of staff level work to ensure the success of the Department of the Army (DA)training mission requirements based on the Army Program for Individual Training (ARPRINT). This series includes positions that involve nonprofessional work of a technical, specialized, or support nature in the field of education and training when the work requires knowledge of program objectives, policies, procedures, or pertinent regulatory requirements affecting the particular education or training activity. Conducts education and training tasks for maintenance, operations, and support training; education services; curriculum development; and instructor activities. Develops, delivers, and evaluates education and training programs and classroom activities.

Requirements

  • NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is a Title 32 Technician Vacancy that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

Qualifications

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Areas 1 & 2. Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: All series personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level and must have a minimum of one-year on-the-job experience in the grade immediately below the next higher level. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. Experiences, education, or training that demonstrated the ability to follow directions, read, understand, and retain instructions, regulations, and procedures that otherwise demonstrates the ability to perform or learn to perform the duties of the position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Is experience that prepares the applicant to perform the duties of this position. May substitute educational-degree study program for specialized experience. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. 4. May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required. 5. The duties and responsibilities of your job may significantly impact the environment. Education

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Army National Guard and Air National Guard Officer Technicians - A high school diploma and a college degree are mandatory. An academic undergraduate degree with courses in education, grammar and composition, speech, psychology, guidance, and sociology; or, social and behavioral sciences is mandatory.

Army National Guard Warrant Officer Technicians - Must have a high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma. An under-graduate degree from an accredited college/university is optimum. An academic degree with courses in education, grammar and composition, speech, psychology, guidance, and sociology; or, social and behavioral sciences defines a best qualified candidate.

Army National Guard and Air National Guard Enlisted Technicians - High school or general equivalent degree is mandatory. An under-graduate degree from an accredited college/university is optimum. An academic degree with courses in education, grammar and composition, speech, psychology, guidance, and sociology; or, social and behavioral sciences defines a best qualified candidate.
