This position is located in the Bingo Program, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Department, Naval Station Mayport, Jacksonville, Florida. The purpose of this position is to perform duties required to operate the bingo program in accordance with policies and regulations.

Duties

Sets up bingo supplies and equipment and stores them at the end of the bingo session. Responsible for "bank fund" issued for cash purposes prior to beginning of the bingo games. Sells bingo cards, collecting and accounting for money received by using a cash register, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for cash handling and bingo operations. Ensures that only authorized patrons play and explains game rules. Maintains all records in controlled number order. Calls bingo games. Checks patron's bingo cards for valid bingos. Verifies card back to the bingo caller. Responsible for preparing DARs (balancing sales income against change funds and correcting overages and/or shortages in change fund) and event sheets. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • May be required to pass pre-employment examinations.
  • Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Must be a mature individual who can exercise control over a large group of people. Must be able to maintain composure in a fast paced sometimes-stressful environment. Must be able to accurately make change and handle large amounts of Bingo cards and money. Must Must have analytical ability to reconcile cards sold. Candidates must be available to work; days, nights, weekends and holidays as the bingo program operates in non-traditional business hours. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
