This position is the Director for the Division of Environmental Health Services program in the Office of Environmental Health & Engineering (OEH&E) at the Oklahoma Area Indian Health Service in Oklahoma City, OK. The purpose of the position is to plan, develop, direct and manage a comprehensive Environmental Health and Engineering program for the Oklahoma Area. The incumbent will report to the Office of the Director of the Oklahoma Area Office of Environmental Health and Engineering (OEH&E).

Duties

Appraises, plans, directs, manages, and evaluates the Area Division of Environmental Health Services program. Developing an annual operating budget for program expenditures including; personnel costs, travel, training, materials, supplies and equipment. Provides oversight to direct Environmental Health services delivered to Area Tribes as needed and/or instructed by the Director. Formulates and implements policies, programs, and procedures for administering projects or programs concerned with eliminating and preventing environmental hazards. Planning and conducting environmental health education trainings.

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: managing and directing broad functions and processes of Public Health administration, Environmental Health and Engineering, involving concurrent activities in problem seeking, identification assessment and prioritization, program planning, budgeting, organization and direction, and program evaluation and deciding the kind and extent of engineering and environmental health and related programs of public health and significance that one needed to accomplish goals. See descriptions: Demonstrated experience in managing environmental health services program - activities are designed to assist families, communities and organizations in planning, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive environmental health program by identifying and correcting environmental conditions which are detrimental to their health status. These activities are provided primarily thru the provision of technical assistance to customers using a variety of techniques such as surveys, injury prevention, and vector control. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
