The primary purpose of this position is To route and expedite the movement of parts, end items, supplies, and materials within production and repair facilities to meet priority needs. The position requires the use of fork lift trucks and light motor vehicles.
Duties
1. Receives, routes, and moves parts, assemblies, components, and other materials into and out of industrial shops.
2. Selects parts and materials to be turned into Supply.
3. Receives requests for parts and materials needed to support production work requirements
4. Operates electric, LPG, or diesel powered fork lift trucks capable of lifting loads weighing less than 10,000 pounds as high as 168 inches.
5. Drives one or more types of trucks such as pickup, panel, and flatbed trucks, which typically have a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or less, on public roads at highway speeds.

- The physical requirements of this position as determined by the manager are: Employee regularly handles weights of up to 40 pounds unassisted. Employee occasionally handles weights up to 60 pounds.
- Material handling devices and assistance of other workers are available for handling especially heavy items. Heavy exertion is frequent. Frequent kneeling, crouching, stooping, and walking are required.
- Work requires light to moderate physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls while driving, raising, lowering, and tilting fork lift trucks.
- Subject to possible strain caused by vibration of fork lift trucks. Occasionally may be required to make limited emergency repairs on vehicles, such as changing a flat tire
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
- The actual work performed in this position has been reviewed and determined that It does not meet any of the exemption criteria defined in 5 CFR 551. This position has been designated as nonexempt
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-6900 Warehousing And Stock Handling Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
