About the Position: Serves as a Supply Technician in a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) or clinic within the Defense Health Agency (DHA). Provides personnel with sterile medical supplies and any requested specialty/technical equipment.

Duties

Projects reorder requirements based on demand supported stock levels, expiration dates and knowledge of the department. Assists in the preparation of the quarterly and annual sections budget. Maintains files of current supply catalogs and price lists. Reviews standardization and makes recommendations on equipment and supplies.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless exempted by a physician.
  • This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Required to lift approximately 30 pounds.
  • Uniform is required.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Inventory ManagementSupply Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
