You will serve as a Technical Editor in the Executive Directorate Code 103400 of the NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.
Duties
You will manage a wide range of publication projects from conception to printing, publishing and distribution.
You will collect primary and background information, including selecting, verifying, and organizing source materials for completeness, coherence and clarity.
You will work with authors and contributors to review copy editing and reconcile corrections made in proof reading.
You will review final proofs for typesetting and printing.
You will be responsible for correlating and organizing technical information.
You will use a variety of software programs, including Microsoft and Adobe desktop publishing software to edit, compose and format documents.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS 5-10) or pay band (NO-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of following duties: 1) Researching and reviewing source materials in order to edit, review, and publish a wide variety of scientific and recruiting materials; 2) Editing, compositions, and layout work relating to publications using desktop publishing software; and 3) Proofing, printing, and performing press sheet inspections.

Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Must have included a total of 15 semester hours in an appropriate scientific, technical, or social science field(s), and at least one course above the introductory level in the field(s) covered by the position. For technical manuals and specifications writers or editors, the equivalent of 15 semester hours may have been gained through vocational or educational training above the high school level at a public, private, or Armed Forces school.
