This position serve as as Supply Technician in the Property Management Division within the Lifecyle Management of the Logistics Service in the Veteran Affairs Health Care System, and supported catchment area in Boston, Massachusetts. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure non-expendable (NX) supplies and material are distributed to areas serviced by Supply Chain Management.
Duties

Works with customers and vendors to obtain information regarding availability of non-expandable equipment.
Performs research of old manufacturers code and part numbers, covering requisitioned material in support of jobs which have not occurred.
Periodically, review assigned manufactures code and part numbers for continued validity and takes action to update, delete, or dispose in accordance with guidelines.
Interact with clinical and administrative customers to ensure issues and needs are identified and resolved or escalated to supervisors or Inventory Management Specialist.
Coordinates drop off of new or transferred equipment and pick up of turn in equipment.
Reviews numerous computer output listings in the performance of research and identification of supplies.
Unpacks/uncrated supplies from shipping cartons and properly scans, bar codes, and stores material.
Distributes items according to established or ad hoc requirements in computerized system of record.
Delivers equipment in a timely and accurate manner.
Process receipt and turn-in transaction to record in the equipment system of record and account for incoming material.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet one of the following:
Specialized Experience: At least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in the Federal service that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this Supply Technician position. Qualifying specialized experience includes: providing equipment and material to clinical and administrative areas of a health care facility; scanning, bar-coding, receiving, storing and distributing equipment and related material; utilizing an automated system to maintain equipment records; and answering customer questions regarding non-expandable equipment and material. ~OR~
Education: Successfully completed 4 years of education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education was obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. Combination: Equivalent combination of specialized experience and post high school education as described above that demonstrates my ability to perform the duties of this position. IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Physical Requirements: The work requires standing and walking during the entire workday, and frequent reaching, bending and lifting of supply packages (occasionally weighing as much as 50 pounds). Work requires pushing loaded carts of medical supplies (weighing in excess of 100+ pounds). With proper assistance, moves heavier items· weighing over 40 pounds.
