As a supervisor/manager, the selectee for this position will be eligible to receive a Manager Performance Incentive (MPI) provided eligibility requirements noted in agency policy are met. The MPI is an annual lump-sum incentive payment that considers agency performance, the manager's individual performance, and available funding.This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization, Safety and Technical Training Service Unit, Safety Directorate, Safety Programs Group (AJl-1100).
Duties
As the VSRP Program Support Team Manager, he/she applies advanced technical knowledge of air traffic operations and procedures or safety interventions, including their interrelatedness and functions, to direct and manage a staff of technical experts and ad hoc interdisciplinary technical teams who support the Voluntary Safety Reporting Programs (VSRP) and associated Event Review Committees (ERC) in the Eastern, Central or Western Service Areas. These programs use technical input from the air traffic controller workforce to identify operational safety concerns and issues; deficiencies; non-compliance with regulations; deviations from company policies and procedures; and unusual safety events that occur in field air traffic control facilities. This work is critical to the safety of the NAS and the flying public.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-J or FG/GS-14 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized Experience is defined as: Experience conducting NAS operations in a terminal or en route air traffic facility, he/she develops new concepts and procedures that improve and enhance systems safety and efficiency.Experience serving on Event Review Committees (ERC) to oversee the collection, analysis and retention of safety data using voluntary safety reporting systems.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
