This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Information Technology Management (INFOSEC) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: The incumbent interprets, develops, recommends, evaluates effectiveness of, and disseminates policy and guidance on Information Assurance program requirements.
Duties
Provide technical security advice and assistance on the design, development, integration, implementation, and operation of all management information systems
Keep abreast of latest developments in hardware and software security and approved Information Assurance Tools.
Review and evaluate the impact of new systems or system changes against Department of Defense and Army Information Assurance configuration management, architecture, and network security standards and requirements.
Work closely with Information Assurance Managers to ensure Information Technology devices are accredited and maintain current accreditation, are Information Assurance and Vulnerability Assessment (IAVA) compliant.
The incumbent will validate mandatory Information Assurance certification training has been completed and official records are on hand for the local area designated approving authorities.
Use one or more major subsystem areas, including but not limited to: IT/Networking equipment, Local Area Network (LAN)/data communications, data center network operating systems, client network operating systems, and database management systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Information Assurance Technical level II certification.
- Pre-employment drug test is required.
- This position requires access to classified information. Incumbent of the position will be required to complete a Standard Form (SF) 312, Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement.

Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: develop plans, policies, and practices necessary to provide guidance and assistance in all aspects of hardware and software security associated with Information Technology systems and ensure all Information Security is properly certified and accredited in accordance with policies and practices.
