About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at Fort Richardson, Alaska .

Duties

Coordinate with the installation Facility Management agencies to gather estimates for work orders, and coordinates funding requirements with the unit Resource Manager. Conduct Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP) inspections on Subordinate units. Perform duties as a Billing Official or Alternate Billing Official. Provide oversight of the Global Combat Supply System-Army (GCSS-A) operations. Communicate effectively with Command Staff. Experience with the Government Purchase Card System.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Travels to temporary duty locations throughout the USARAPAC AOR Alaska Area of Operation and CONUS may be required (15%).
  • This position has been designated mission essential. Employee may be required to remain on duty or report for duty during severe weather or other installation closings.
  • May be required to work overtime and other than normal duty hours which may include evenings. Weekends, and/or holidays.

Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes coordinating with the installation Facility Management agencies to gather estimates for work orders, and coordinating funding requirements with the unit Resource Manager.; experience with the Government Purchase Card system; performing duties as a Billing Official or Alternate Billing Official; experience working with Global Combat Supply System -Army (GCSS-A); conducting Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP) inspections on Subordinate units; and communicating effectively with Command Staff. OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Logistics Management, Materials Movement, Supply Chain and/or Property Management, and Management Information Systems. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). This position is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.
