Duties

Continued from Summary: The primary purpose of this position is: To provide professional social work services in support of the Family Advocacy Program (FAP). As the FAIS, designs, develops, coordinates and implements the secondary prevention component of FAP. Serves as the installation secondary prevention subject matter expert (SME), providing consultation to installation leadership regarding needs assessment, determining prevention requirements, and developing secondary prevention services. Performs crisis intervention, risk and clinical assessments, case management and administrative tasks to prevent and treat child and spouse/intimate partner abuse serving beneficiaries scattered over a large geographical area. DUTIES Designs, develops, coordinates, and implements the secondary prevention component of FAP. Responsible for case management activities occurring from initial referral and counseling, through case closure, or transfer. Provides professional advisory services and training to other health care professionals, installation personnel, and community agencies concerning secondary prevention programs; and serves as community liaison with military and civilian agencies. • Must possess a current unrestricted license to practice clinical social work (LCSW) independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgen Islands.
• Practice will require clinical privileges at the host MTF. Must maintain independent active clinical privileges for the duration of employment. Must sustain current competency to practice at the independent level
• Must have practiced as an independent licensed clinical social worker within past two years
• Government civilian providers must meet all applicable credentialing requirements IAW military treatment facility guidelines and be fully qualified to perform within the scope of their practice
• Must possess and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
