The Program Support Assistant -Whole Health Program Assistant provides Project Coordinator support at the local facility level for the national evaluation of the Whole Health Demonstration project. The position will assist and carry out work for various projects on the utilization, costs, tracking and outcomes of the implementation of the Whole Health System.

Duties

Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) is one of the largest integrated health care systems in the Department of Veterans Affairs and includes facilities in Murfreesboro and Nashville. 20 Community-Based Outpatient Clinics are located in Kentucky and Tennessee. Nashville offers affordable living with picturesque seasons and an abundance of recreational and entertainment activities. Nashville, better known as "Music City USA," is the capital of Tennessee and home of the Tennessee Titans NFL and Nashville Predators NHL teams. Tennessee has NO STATE TAXES!!! Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants must have one of the following to be found qualified: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-4 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience is defined as: served as program assistant, secretary, administrative assistant responsible for providing administrative services to mid-level managers. Research, interpret and apply complex set of laws, rules, regulations and policies and explain policies to residents in basic terms; recognize and evaluate various medical situations, react appropriately and perform emergency medical treatment as needed and the ability to prioritize cases and prepare an emergency contingency plan; serves as Technical knowledge of computer software applications including CPRS/VISTA, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, etc. Note: To receive credit for qualifying experience, it must be documented in your resume. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have 4 years of education above high school. NOTE: Successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable at grades GS-3 through GS-5 for all positions. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university. OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and education beyond 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of undergraduate education. If basing qualifications on education, you must submit transcripts with your application. ****Preferred Experience:-Customer Service experience-Health care experience or related field of social services, education, corrections-Office management skills including basic computing software (e.g. Microsoft Office)-Education certificate or degree preferred but not required Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
