Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the DoD in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information.
This is not a remote position.
Duties
Performs a combination of tasks concerned with the receipt, storage, issue, and replenishment of a wide variety of accountable assets as well as general supplies and equipment.
Researches any discrepancies in documentation and resolves.
Answers recurring inquiries regarding the status of requisitions, delivery of material, and other questions received from customers, storage depots, or other organizations.
Conducts management studies on the utilization of property as well as customer ordering patterns.
Provides customer service for unique requests and other items requiring special handling.

Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-05) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
GS-06 Specialized experience is defined as: performing tasks concerned with the receipt, storage, distribution and inventory of a wide variety of supplies, equipment, materials, and publications; monitoring and expediting supply items and general supply assets; conducting follow-up actions to expedite delivery of problem requisitions, parts and tools. Determines the status of supply actions or reasons for delay and answer inquiries orally or in writing.
Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social) is qualifying. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.
Education
GS-06 Six months of graduate education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement when it is directly related to the position being filled. If you are using education to substitute for the qualifying experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be used to substitute for the specialized experience requirement.
To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
