About the Position: Serves as a Carpenter Supervisor for the Joint Activities located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

Duties

Serves as a supervisor in the Directorate of Facilities Management. Makes timely decisions, readily understands complex issues, and develops solutions that effectively address problems. Determines resource requirements for construction projects, materials, and the number of subordinates and types of skills necessary to accomplish long-range work schedules. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules and short- and long-range plans developed.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information SCI access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has been designated “Weather Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work to support the mission operations.
  • IAW change 3 to AR-600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, this position is subject to a pre-employment urinalysis screening, and random testing thereafter.
  • Lifting up to 50-100 lbs. in the regular performance of duties. A preemployment physical is required, and as needed thereafter.
  • In conformance with AR 600-500, Standard of Conduct for DA personnel, Paragraphs 3-1 and 3- 2A, must file a Statement of Employment and Financial Interests. Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450,
  • A one-year supervisory probationary period is required.
  • A pre-employment physical is required.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

I have the ability to perform common carpenter supervisor tasks including explaining instructions, methods, and procedures for work assignments, following policies and procedures to ensure completion has met the mission. I can lay out work, determine the materials and equipment need for the job, and regularly spot check work of other carpenters. I work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
