This position is part of the, Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating records management matters with NARA andother oversight agencies and provides advice and guidance to records liaisons and records custodians on RIM lifecycle requirements.

Duties

Provides support and oversight for all processes involved in the receipt, collection, control, dissemination, storage, retrieval, protection, and disposition of records received, generated, and utilized by the CSB. Collaborates with the agency's CIO, legal and other agency staff on matters relating to RIM as it pertains to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)/Privacy Act (PA). Serves as the agency's liaison with several external groups, e.g., the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), NARA, etc., and attends meetings and seminars, as necessary, to keep abreast of records management developments and accomplish assignments more effectively, economically, and in conformance with current standards. Assists the CIO with the management, oversight, direction, and evaluation of the CSB's records management program. Plans, organizes, reviews, coordinates, and establishes controls for the CSB's record activities utilizing agency tools such as Microsoft Purview Records Management, Azure Information Protection, and Office365 retention policies.

At the GS-12 level, you must meet the following qualification: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes 1) Leading a small component of a team, program, or project; AND 2) Applying and researching rules, regulations, policies, and practices to gather facts, and draw conclusions and/or make recommendations; AND 3) Analyzing, reviewing, and recommending changes to policies, strategies, and guidelines governing lifecycle data standards and authorities. All MUST be found in your resume to be found qualified. At the GS-13 level, you must meet the following qualification: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
