About the Position: This position is with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, Galveston Resource Management Office, Human Capital Branch.
Duties
Advises the District Commander and Corporate Board regarding staffing requirements, workforce resources, program objectives, and problems.
Attends meetings with managers and supervisors to help formulate workforce management plans and strategies.
Reviews organizational requirements and/or conducts studies relating to such factors as turnover, mission, identifying staffing trends, anticipated vacancies, and retention deficiencies to develop short and long-range staffing requirements and plans.
Provides guidance and advice to management on recruitment and outreach initiatives.
Completes and reviews numerous reports to include tracking of personnel actions and status of hiring actions and provides regular updates.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Performing analysis of civilian workforce for organization to develop short- and long-term staffing plans; 2). Provide recommendations to managers on courses of action to help resolve staffing/classification issues. AND 3. Tracking the training needs of an organization and providing management with status and requirements for employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
