Duties
As a Financial Analyst, you will:
Write computer programs and code to organize and analyze data, relying on technical knowledge of the principles of financial markets as it relates to the banking industry.
Provide financial reporting and analysis in one or more of the following sub-specialty areas: Commercial Credit, Retail Credit, Capital Markets and Compliance.
Serve as a project leader identifying spatial and statistical abnormalities, and interrelated, obscure financial, economic, and behavioral relationships in the data.
Prepare analysis of datasets of a large size to advise on various banking and financial services, projects, and to monitor and analyze the condition and performance of systems.
Develop, interpret, and explain spreadsheets, reports, screens, and spatial analysis (such as maps and regressions) and draw conclusions and provide supporting rationale on which conclusions are based.
Represent the division in OCC and interagency groups on issues affecting the collection, management, reporting, and analysis of data on the banking and financial services industry.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-IV (or GS-11) band level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
Experience analyzing financial or economic data for supervisory compliance, audit, or economic condition purposes AND representing financial or economic data visually/graphically.
The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
