This position is located in the BLM Carlsbad Field Office.
This position is open to Bureau of Land Management (BLM) New Mexico current permanent employees on a competitive appointment and employees that meet Land Management Authority. This includes Bureau of Land Management (BLM) employees in New Mexico, Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma.
Duties
Provide direction, consultation, coaching, and support to facilitate problem solving and accomplishment of Field Office goals and programs. Create strong mutual respect with, and between teams and employees.
Share responsibility for overall program direction, execution, and review of all activities within the Field Office.
Responsible for planning, budgeting, organizing, implementing and evaluating a broad array of complex resource programs requiring intensive multiple-use management and protection of a variety of resources.
Primary decision-maker for actions within the Field Office.
Conduct planning/management for complex, controversial, and nationally significant programs in coordination with representatives of Federal, State, Tribal, and local governments, the general public, public land users, and private landowners.

- You cannot hold an active real estate license, nor can you have an interest or hold stocks in firms with interest in Federal Lands.
- If you are a new supervisor in the Federal government, you will be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
- If selected for this position, you will be required to annually complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450 within 30 days of reporting to duty.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:
Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) planning, implementing, and/or administering a natural resource program in a multi-resource environment; (2) managing or directing one or more natural resource programs within a multiple-use framework or natural resources management setting; (3) working with an established budget system; (4) managing public lands for multiple use, such as energy, mineral and renewable resources.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
