The primary purpose of this position is a combination of counter checkout service and recreation duties requiring specific knowledge of sports equiptment and facilities.
Duties
- Employee issues recreation equipment, uniforms, athletic equipment to authorized patrons ensuring that check-out slip are executed on all issues equipment. Employee also received recreation equipment, uniforms, and athletic equipment from patrons after use and returns to proper storage.
- Employee verities authorized patrons ensuring each patron correctly checks-in and may collect fees and issue receipts for use of the Fitness Center/Gym/Pool and programs by patrons authorized to pay and follow proper policies and procedures for receiving fees and responsible for properly inputting this information into Point of Sale (POS)/Class system. Responsible for change funds received and preparing Daily Activity Reports (DAR) at the end of each shift is required. Maintains information files, including records and receipts.
- Employee operates washer and dryer to keep uniform, towels, soft goods, etc. clean and dry to patrons.
- Employee assists with conducting events sponsored by the Fitness Center. Puts up nets, prepares courts, inspects equipment for safety, returning to proper place if moved.
- Employee answers telephone and provides basic information concerning the Fitness Center
- Does walkarounds to check facility for security, fire, and safety issues. Identifies equipment needing maintenance or repair and notifies supervisor. May assist in performing Maintenace on Equipment.
- Continually ensures facility is being properly utilized and all areas are safeguarded from misuse and performs general housekeeping. Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe work area and may assist in cleaning and making facility ready for use.
Requirements
- Must pass all applicable records and background check.
- Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
Qualifications
No specific education required. Must be a responsible individual with a pleasant, courteous attitude who can communicate effectively with the public. Must present a neat, clean sppearance. Must quickly acquire a basic knowledge of the rules and practices f the equipment used. Must be capable of collecting and accurately recording cash transactions, and operating a cash register. Must be capable of learning and passing CPR, First Aid and AED training wtihin 90 days of appointmnet to the position. Shoudl ahve a positive work hstory demonstrating accountability in a customer service environment.
