THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ASSISTANT (OA), Position Description Number D2407000 and is part of the KS 190 Air Refueling Wing, National Guard.

Duties

As a MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ASSISTANT (OA), GS-0344-07, As an Administrative Support Assistant in the office of the Group Commander, you will provide analytical support and administrative assistance to the Group Commander/Staff. Participates as part of an integrated support team within the organization to track, coordinate and assist with organizational assignments, budget, personnel actions, special emphasis programs and related requirements. Incumbent assists in developing, writing, coordinating, and approving production management policies, programs, operations, and initiatives. Incumbent performs a variety of technical and administrative duties of significant complexity in support of organizational operations, planning, programming, and policy. Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements. Telework: ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK"

Requirements

  • KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance within one year of appointment.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E3 through E6 Compatible Military Assignments: 3F071 * Must be willing and able to cross train into the compatible AFSC GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training involving administrative or clerical experience (i.e., applying guidelines, rules and regulations to assignments, composing correspondence, researching and compiling information and data, and records administration). Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 12 months experience, education or training evaluating and determining regulatory compliance. Experience using guidelines, methods, precedents and techniques applicable to the specific programs or phases relative to the position. Experience conducting studies, preparing reports, and making changes to eliminate ineffective operations.
