About the Position: The Yakima Training Center (YTC) is located in south central Washington State, adjacent to the community of Selah and 10 miles from Yakima. The area is known for a wide variety of agriculture. Outdoor recreation opportunities include world-famous fly fishing on the Yakima River, boating, white water rafting, hunting, hiking, and multiple ski slopes are under an hour away. The larger metropolitan areas of Seattle, Portland, and Spokane are close enough for a day trip.

Duties

Provide full scope project management duties in a variety of construction, repair and maintenance contracts involving multi-disciplines civil, architectural, electrical and mechanical-systems and components. Develop completed working drawings for construction projects including architectural, structural, electrical and mechanical systems. Prepare contracting documents using technical engineering knowledge, and skills to execute various service contracts and miscellaneous minor construction projects. Perform Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) duties, project administration and inspection for a variety of contracts. Provide full scope project management duties in a variety of construction, repair and maintenance contracts involving multi-disciplines civil, architectural, electrical and mechanical-systems and components. Support engineering staff in duties associated with the development of engineering projects and related Real Property Maintenance Activity (RPMA) support for 900,000 square feet of facilities at the Yakima Training Center. Utilize manual and/or Computer Aided Drafting Design (CADD) drafting systems to update as-built documentation for completed projects. Inspect Yakima Training Center facilities and maintain updated status in Army Databases to assist Garrison Commander Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization and Military Construction.

Requirements

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 39 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

OR Education: 2 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or masters or equivalent graduate degree or LL.B. or J.D. NOTE: Graduate education is acceptable in lieu of specialized experience only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. Examples of related course work include engineering, engineering or industrial technology, construction, physics, drafting, surveying, physical science, or mathematics. OR Combination of Education and Experience: For this position, you may qualify with a combination of qualifying education (as described above) and qualifying specialized experience. When combining education with experience, compute the percentage of the requirements total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate beyond 2 years education by 36. Add the 2 percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100% to qualify.) (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.
