A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected. The display of a salary range on this vacancy shall not be construed as granting an entitlement to a higher rate of pay.

Duties

As a working leader, you will perform the following duties: Maintain current knowledge, and answer questions of other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. Demonstrate proper work methods and work along with others to set a work pace. Ensure safety and housekeeping rules are followed. Ensure necessary plans, materials, supplies, equipment and tools are available when needed. Recommend operation needs per work requests to the supervisor. Answer the questions of supervisors on overall work operations and problems. This position performs non-supervisory work involved in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings and related fixtures and utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices. Performs a variety of maintenance tasks in assigned functional areas of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, masonry, water/wastewater treatment operations, roofing and painting.
