The New Mexico VA Healthcare Network is recruiting for a Supervisory Social Worker- Military to VA (M2VA) Program Manager. The incumbent will oversee all transition activities and the coordination of care and services for the Post-911 Service Members and Veterans.

Duties

Duties included but not limited to: Oversight of a complex array of services, both clinical and administrative, for all Post-911 service members and Veterans. Perform the Administrative and Personnel Management function relative to staff supervised. Establish guidelines and performance expectations for staff, which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system. Ensure Post-911 Veterans receive comprehensive preventive mental and physical health evaluations. Ensure that the M2VA, IPV, TBI and Polytrauma programs are interdisciplinary and fully integrated with the inpatient and outpatient medical programs. Prepare program reports for VA Central Office, the VISN Point of Contact (POC), and Medical Center leadership. Responsible for management of Military Treatment Facility referrals and the list of Post-911 Veterans located in the facility's catchment area. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm Telework: 1-2 days per pay period (available after 90 days of satisfactory performance) Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Qualifications

Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. English Language Proficiency. Candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f). Licensure: Candidate must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level which included an advanced generalist or clinical examination, unless they are grandfathered by the state in which they are licensed to practice at the advanced practice level (except for licenses issued in California, which administers its own clinical examination for advanced practice) and they must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Education: Master's degree in social work (MSW) from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for master's degree in social work. May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria). Grade Determinations: One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional competency. In addition to the experience above, candidates must demonstrate all of the following KSAs: (a) Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring. (b) Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program. (c) Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program. (d) Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). (e) Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice. References: VA HANDBOOK 5005/120 APPENDIX G39 Physical Requirements: Traveling throughout the medical center and the community is required, as is performing activities involving sitting, walking, and standing, bending and carrying such items as books, papers, and files. In carrying out responsibilities it may be necessary for the incumbent to travel into the community where he/she conducts interviews with the Veterans, their families, representatives of community health and welfare agencies and law enforcement agencies. The incumbent must possess current driver's license and drive a government vehicle in carrying out professional duties when deemed necessary.
