This position is located in the Clinical Services Department of the Quentin N. Burdick Memorial Health Care Facility.in Belcourt, ND. The Credentialing Specialist verifies the professional licensing, training, and certifications of professional medical staff. Their primary goal is to ensure healthcare professionals and services meet all established federal and state standards, as well as NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance standards.

Duties

Maintains expertise in new regulations, laws, and accreditation standards that impact Winnebago Service Unit's medical staff credentialing and privileging operation as they are developed and released. Reviews the findings of internal and external administrative reviews and audits, interprets and analyzes those reports, and provides advice on any modifications or corrections to operations which are necessary to maintain compliance. Initiates and processes applications for medical staff membership and clinical privileges. Initiates background research on all applicants to include: preparing and sending out credentialing packages, obtain verification of education, licensure, certification etc. Records proceedings, prepares and finalizes committee actions for signature and conducts follow-up. Notifies employees of expiration of licensure and clinical privileges.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Comprehensive knowledge in credentialing and privileging, professional licensing boards and accreditation standards. Knowledge, skill and ability to resolve issues, work independently, use judgement while performing the credentialing process. Or, successfully completed master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years (36 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
