This position is located in the Office of Financial Management, Oklahoma City Area Indian Health Service in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The purpose of this position is to provide area-wide guidance and support of travel management for civil service and commissioned personnel. Incumbent serves in a complex organization where civil service and commissioned personnel must adhere to separate travel regulations. Incumbent is under the general supervision of the Director, Office of Financial Management.
Duties
Provides area wide guidance and assistance concerning travel management policies and procedures.
Reviews all Oklahoma City Area Office personnel travel vouchers submitted in government travel system for compliance with Federal Travel Regulations.
Participates in the development of area policy and procedures for travel management based upon new and revised Federal travel regulations.
Provides technical assistance and expertise in effecting relocations for all employees in the Oklahoma City Area.
Responsible for the issuance of Travel Cards to Area employees based on defined regulations.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate you possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience include: serving as a subject matter expert to others who are on temporary duty away from regular duty station where expenses can be reimbursed; ensuring travelers understand their entitlements and what documentation will be needed to file a travel claim; preparing travel orders in an automated travel system providing instruction and guidance on preparation of manual travel orders and manual travel vouchers,

Completion of a Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.) in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. Completion of one (1) full year of graduate level education that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
GS-9: Your resume must demonstrate you possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as planning, coordinating, analyzing, reviewing, evaluating, developing, and implementing travel management projects and programs; exercise judgment in interpreting and adapting guidelines; performing the task of review travel orders in the travel system using knowledge of federal travel management regulations, policies, procedures, laws, executive orders, directives, and good business management practices relating to travel management; and auditing the submitted travel voucher from the traveler to assure that they are in accordance with the Federal Travel Regulation for more than one type of employee (for example, Federal Travel Regulation or Joint Federal Travel Regulation.

A master's degree, equivalent graduate degree, 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. in a related field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
