About the Position: Serves as Emergency Management Specialist for the National Emergency Preparedness Program for the Seattle District, developing plans and ensuring implementation of emergency policies and procedures in accordance with applicable regulations.

Duties

Perform program management planning for the full scope of National Emergency Preparedness Program (NEPP) initiatives, actions, and goals. Develop policies, plans, training, organizational structures, and resources to meet local and national requirements. Request and allocate resources to ensure adequacy and validity of plans. Establish priorities, develop budgets, cite target and functions for specific portions of plan development and establish milestones to ensure timely accomplishment. Establish and maintain the necessary level of emergency readiness and response capability through the implementation and modification of national, regional, and local program plans, resources, and related guidelines, policies and procedures. Develops and maintains a NEPP training and exercise plan for inclusion in EM Training and Exercise Plan.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • This is an Emergency Essential (EE) Position. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent must continue to perform the duties and requirements of the position.
  • Is subject to 24-hour recall to perform emergency response duties. May include tour(s) of duty on weekends or nights to support training for or during actual emergency operations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
