This position is located in the Washington, DC Commuting Area within the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia, at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Duties

Acts as a subject matter expert on empirical analysis and data visualization. Assesses, categorizes, and identifies and compares strengths and weaknesses of data sources, as well as sources and methods of information collection Utilizes data analysis tools, including data analysis programming language (such as Python or R), Tableau, Excel, and mapping tools (such as QGIS or ARCGIS). Prepares, drafts, reviews, and edits briefing material, fact sheets, communications, and other written information products. Provides briefings to senior government officials and non-specialist audiences.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:GS-14: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the next lower level for this position include: (a) Experience performing country-level data analysis utilizing open source and governmental data sources to identify international development needs, threats, and opportunities; (b) Experience creating new and original data visualization products to explain complex international development data; and (c) Experience planning, executing, and presenting original analysis and research related to complex international development issues. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience relevant to the position's duties to be filled, including volunteer experience. CTAP/ICTAP candidates will be referred to the selecting official if they are found well qualified. Well-qualified means an eligible employee who possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities that clearly exceed the position's minimum requirements.
