The incumbent is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a formal comprehensive Quality Assurance Program (QAP) encompassing all functions and programs for which Environmental Management Service has responsibility. The QAP requires the incumbent to monitor regular waste removal, contaminated waste removal, multiple recycling removal processes, pest control activities and related records, housekeeping activities from both, VA and linen distribution, and linen control.

Duties

The duties of the Program Analyst include, but are not limited to: Working closely with the Chief and Assistant Chief, EMS to ensure close coordination of the EMS functional activities with the overall medical center mission and function Serving as Chairperson or Alternate of the EMS QAP Committee, which involves planning the agenda, developing yearly schedules, planning for documentation of minutes, and maintaining records of all committee functions Preparing evaluations and establish monitors of external review, coordinating EMS's input and follows up on multidisciplinary evaluations Reviewing patient satisfactory survey and customer complaints Serving as TMS Coordinator for Environmental Management Service Providing training covering a wide variety of topics in well-established areas of a subject-matter field associated with EMS Ensuring SOP's and policies are up-to-date and accurate Establishing data collection system for all waste management activities to include:(1) various types of recyclable waste, (2) potentially contaminated (red bag) waste, and (3) noncontaminated (non-red bag) waste Data entry to include competency questions & answers, formal and informal inspection, and/or reviews conducted by any service supervisor and the collection of any other performance evaluation data pertinent to the position and type work being conducted Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM Virtual: This is not a virtual position. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Do you possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in Federal service that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of a Program Analyst at the GS-9 grade level? Qualifying specialized experience includes but is not limited to: Experience modification of various training requirements and recommending modifications; Develop and utilize computer tracking systems; Designing, developing, and conducting special studies for data collection and analysis; and Planning agendas, documentation of minutes, and maintaining records of committees. Knowledge of performance standards and evaluation. -OR- SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE Do you possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Education cannot be credited without documentation. -OR- COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Do you possess equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience that may be used to meet total experience requirements? This education must be beyond 1 year of graduate level education and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
