Duties
Serves as a Subject Matter Expert for all Inspector General (IG) programs and exercises significant responsibility as a Wing advisor of The Inspection System, CCIP, Unit Self-Assessment Program (USAP), Complaints Resolution Program and FWA Program.
Responsible for planning and executing the various complex programs supporting of the Wing Commander's Inspection Programs (CCIP).
Oversees the management of Wing instruction and develops goals using detailed analysis of the Wing USAP and IG systems of record, to include IGEMS, IGEMS-C and MICT.
Serves as an independent IG in overall operation, administration, and management of the CRP, IG Investigations, FWA, and Whistleblower Reprisal program.
Coordinates with the Wing Commander and Wing Inspector General to identify and apportion appropriate manpower to administer effective CCIP and CRPs as IG duty is a position of high public trust.

- This position requires a secret security clearance; the incumbent of this position must obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- Employee will be required to wear and use personal protective equipment as required and provided by the employer.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.
- This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing. Pre-employment drug testing and participation in random drug testing is a condition of employment.
- In accordance with Air Force guidance, incumbent must complete the wing Inspector General Training Course Inspections (IGTC-I) and Inspector General Training Course Complaints Resolution (IGTC-Q) within 180 days of appointment.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with skill in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; knowledge of applicable laws, directives, regulations, policies, and procedures; skill in interpersonal communications, empathy, and effective listening; ability to organize thoughts, research materials, and manage case projects; skill in comprehending and interpreting directives and laws; ability to enunciate without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit effective communications; ability to write reports and presentation formats; and ability to communicate -orally and in writing- clearly and effectively .Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled .Comprehensive knowledge of the major issues, program goals and objectives, work processes, and administrative operations of the activity.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least 36 months experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. This includes comprehensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues/inspections or investigations/inquiries concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations (discipline, efficiency, morale, economy, training and readiness) carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions (i.e., internal activities or functions such as supply, budget, procurement, or personnel which serve to facilitate line or program operations). Comprehensive knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and precedents which affect the use of program and related support resources (people, money, or equipment) in the area studied. Comprehensive knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative and technical programs, along with knowledge of the mission, organization, and work processes of programs throughout a military command, complex multi-mission, or equivalent, and the relationships of administrative support activities (e.g., data processing accounting, budget) to such missions. Comprehensive knowledge in conducting inspections, inquires, investigations, analyzing findings, and making recommendations on substantive operating programs. Comprehensive knowledge and skill in preparing project papers and staffs reports, organizing and delivering briefings to managers for understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations. At least one year experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.

You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-11. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
